Today, I would like to tell you about a place I have always dreamed of visiting in my free time, Kyoto, Japan, a culturally rich and visually breathtaking destination that is widely regarded as the historical heart of Japan.
It is located in the Kansai region of Japan and is famous for its time-honoured (có lịch sử lâu đời – having existed for a very long time and respected for tradition) temples, traditional wooden houses, and serene gardens. Kyoto is often described as a culturally immersive (giàu trải nghiệm văn hoá – providing deep involvement in local culture and traditions) city where every corner reflects centuries of history.>> 🔥 Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR
If I had the chance to go there, I would spend my time exploring off the beaten track (ít người biết đến – not commonly visited by tourists) neighbourhoods, visiting ancient shrines, and walking through the iconic bamboo forest in Arashiyama. I would also try authentic Japanese cuisine, especially in small family-run restaurants that offer a mouth-watering (cực kỳ ngon miệng – extremely delicious) experience.
I would probably stay there for about 7 to 10 days to fully immerse myself in its picture-perfect (đẹp như tranh – extremely beautiful and visually ideal) scenery without feeling rushed.
I would like to visit Kyoto mainly for two reasons.
First, it offers a once-in-a-lifetime (có một không hai – extremely rare and unlikely to happen again) opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture in its purest form. The bustling yet harmonious cityscape (khung cảnh đô thị nhộn nhịp nhưng hài hoà – lively urban environment that still feels balanced and peaceful) allows visitors to experience both modern convenience and ancient charm simultaneously. For example, you can see a futuristic train system just minutes away from a centuries-old temple, which creates a striking contrast.
Second, I am deeply attracted to its awe-inspiring (đáng kinh ngạc – causing great admiration and wonder) natural beauty. The seasonal cherry blossoms and autumn foliage create a serene atmosphere (bầu không khí yên bình – calm and peaceful environment) that is perfect for relaxation and self-reflection. I believe this kind of environment would help me escape from academic pressure and recharge mentally.
To sum up, Kyoto is not just a travel destination for me, but a place where I can experience cultural depth, natural beauty, and personal tranquillity all at once.

IV. PART 3
Why do some people prefer to travel in their own country rather than going abroad?
Some individuals prefer domestic tourism due to financial prudence (sự thận trọng về tài chính) and familiar cultural landscape (bối cảnh văn hoá quen thuộc). Firstly, staying within one’s own country significantly reduces travel expenses such as airfare, accommodation, and currency exchange costs. This allows travellers to enjoy a more cost-effective and hassle-free journey, especially for those with a limited budget. Secondly, they often feel emotionally secure in a familiar environment where language, customs, and social norms are easier to navigate. For example, many elderly travellers in Vietnam prefer visiting Da Lat or Nha Trang rather than going abroad because they feel more comfortable and less stressed. As a result, domestic travel offers both economic efficiency and psychological comfort. Therefore, it becomes a practical and low-risk choice for many people.
Moreover, some people are influenced by time-saving convenience (sự tiện lợi tiết kiệm thời gian) and a stress-free travel experience (trải nghiệm du lịch không căng thẳng). Travelling abroad often involves complicated procedures such as visa applications, long-distance flights, and cultural adaptation, which can be mentally exhausting. In contrast, domestic trips are usually more straightforward, allowing people to plan spontaneously without bureaucratic obstacles. For instance, busy professionals in Hanoi often choose weekend trips to Sa Pa instead of international destinations due to limited vacation time. Consequently, domestic travel becomes an efficient and mentally relaxing alternative. Overall, the combination of convenience and reduced stress strongly explains this preference.
Some people don't like to travel abroad. Why?
One main reason is travel anxiety (lo âu khi đi du lịch) combined with a lack of linguistic confidence (sự tự tin về ngôn ngữ). Firstly, many individuals feel nervous when facing unfamiliar languages and cultures, which creates communication barriers and misunderstandings. This leads to a sense of vulnerability in foreign environments. For example, a Vietnamese tourist in Europe may struggle to order food or ask for directions, making the experience uncomfortable. In addition, the fear of making mistakes in communication often discourages them from international travel. As a result, they prefer to stay in environments where they feel linguistically secure. Therefore, psychological barriers play a crucial role in limiting overseas travel>> 🔥 IELTS TUTOR gợi ý tham khảo CẦN VIẾT & THU ÂM BAO NHIÊU BÀI ĐỂ ĐẠT 8.0 SPEAKING & 7.0 WRITING?
Another reason is cost-related deterrence (rào cản liên quan đến chi phí) and logistical complexity (sự phức tạp về hậu cần). International trips usually require a significant budget for flights, accommodation, insurance, and visa fees, which can be financially overwhelming. Moreover, planning such trips often involves multiple steps and unpredictable risks such as flight delays or cultural misunderstandings. For instance, young workers with modest incomes often avoid travelling abroad because it may disrupt their financial stability. Consequently, they perceive overseas travel as impractical and burdensome. Thus, economic and organisational difficulties discourage many people from going abroad.
Why do people choose to travel or live abroad?
Many people choose to travel or live abroad due to career advancement opportunities (cơ hội phát triển nghề nghiệp) and educational enrichment (sự nâng cao giáo dục). Firstly, developed countries often provide better job markets, higher salaries, and more competitive working environments, which attract ambitious individuals seeking professional growth. Secondly, studying abroad offers access to high-quality education systems and diverse academic perspectives. For example, many Vietnamese students pursue degrees in Australia or the United States to enhance their global employability. As a result, international mobility becomes a strategic investment in one’s future. Therefore, career and education are powerful motivating factors.
In addition, people are motivated by lifestyle diversification (đa dạng hoá lối sống) and cultural immersion (sự hoà nhập văn hoá). Living abroad allows individuals to experience new traditions, cuisines, and social values, which broadens their worldview. This exposure helps them develop adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills. For instance, expatriates in Japan often learn discipline and efficiency from local working culture. Consequently, such experiences enrich personal development and self-awareness. Overall, the desire for a more dynamic and culturally rich life strongly encourages people to go abroad.
