III. Phân tích

Today, I would like to tell you about an experience when I got extremely bored while being with other people.
It happened about six months ago when I attended a family gathering at my uncle’s house. I was there with many of my relatives, including my cousins, aunts, and uncles. At first, I thought it would be an enjoyable occasion because I rarely get the chance to meet all of them at the same time.
When I arrived, everyone was engaged in small-talk-filled conversations (những cuộc trò chuyện xã giao – conversations about unimportant topics to be polite) and discussing family matters. I tried to join in, but most of the topics revolved around financial issues, property investments, and work-related concerns, which I found rather uninteresting. As a result, I felt completely out of the loop (không theo kịp câu chuyện – not aware of or involved in what others are discussing).>> 🔥 Nhắn zalo 0905834420 join group zalo Hóng đề thi máy 4 skills để cập nhật đề thi thật 4 kĩ năng hằng ngày [Kèm giải & đề làm online]
What made the situation even worse was that the gathering turned into a long-winded discussion (cuộc thảo luận dài dòng – a discussion that continues for too long and contains unnecessary details) that seemed to drag on forever. Instead of participating actively, I spent most of my time scrolling through my phone and occasionally responding to questions. The atmosphere was quite energy-draining (gây mất năng lượng – making someone feel tired or mentally exhausted), especially because everyone was sitting around a table for hours without doing anything entertaining.
The main reason I was bored was that there was a significant generation gap (khoảng cách thế hệ – differences in attitudes and interests between people of different ages) between me and the older relatives. Their interests were completely different from mine, making it difficult for me to contribute meaningfully to the conversation. For example, while they were discussing real estate trends and business strategies, I was much more interested in technology, music, and current social trends.
Another reason was the lack of any interactive activity (hoạt động tương tác – an activity that requires active participation from people involved). If we had played board games, watched a movie, or participated in some kind of group activity, I would have felt much more engaged. Instead, the event felt like a never-ending social obligation (nghĩa vụ xã giao kéo dài bất tận – a social event attended mainly out of responsibility rather than enjoyment) rather than a fun family reunion.

IV. Part 3
1. Why do students find their teacher boring?
Answer:
I think students often find their teachers boring when lessons are not thought-provoking (kích thích tư duy – making people think deeply) enough. A class can become monotonous if teachers simply deliver information without encouraging discussion or interaction. Students nowadays tend to prefer hands-on activities (hoạt động thực hành – activities involving active participation) because they help maintain attention and improve understanding. For example, a science teacher who organizes experiments is usually more engaging than one who only lectures from a textbook. Another reason is that some teachers fail to establish a student-centered approach (phương pháp lấy học sinh làm trung tâm – focusing on learners’ needs and participation). When students are not given opportunities to express their opinions, they may gradually lose interest in the lesson. For instance, classes that involve debates, group projects, and problem-solving tasks are generally considered much more stimulating. Therefore, a lack of interaction and creativity is often why students perceive certain teachers as boring.
2. How to avoid feeling bored?
Answer:
One effective way to avoid boredom is to engage in skill-building activities (hoạt động phát triển kỹ năng – activities that improve abilities or knowledge). Learning something new keeps the mind active and creates a sense of achievement. For example, many people take online courses, learn a foreign language, or develop a new hobby during their free time. Another useful strategy is to maintain a well-balanced lifestyle (lối sống cân bằng – a lifestyle that properly balances different aspects of life). When people combine work, exercise, social interaction, and relaxation, they are less likely to feel mentally exhausted or bored. In addition, spending time with friends can introduce fresh experiences and different perspectives. For instance, joining a sports club or participating in community events often makes daily life more exciting. As a result, keeping oneself productive and socially connected is an excellent way to prevent boredom.
3. Why do people use their phones when they are bored?
Answer:
I believe people use their phones when they are bored because smartphones provide instant gratification (sự thỏa mãn tức thì – immediate pleasure or satisfaction). With just a few taps, users can access entertainment, news, games, or social media content. For example, many individuals scroll through short videos because they offer quick enjoyment without requiring much effort. Another reason is that smartphones serve as a convenient time-filling device (công cụ giết thời gian – something used to occupy free time). During long commutes or while waiting in queues, people often turn to their phones to make the waiting period feel shorter. Furthermore, social media platforms continuously provide attention-grabbing content (nội dung thu hút sự chú ý – content designed to attract attention) that keeps users engaged. For instance, personalized recommendations encourage people to keep scrolling for extended periods. Consequently, phones have become the most accessible and convenient solution whenever people experience boredom.
