IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

Today, I would like to tell you about one of my closest friends, Linh, who is undoubtedly the most stylish person I know.

She works as a freelance fashion consultant (fashion consultanttư vấn thời trang – a person who advises clients on fashion trends and clothing styles). Her job allows her to explore her creativity and stay up-to-date with the latest runway trends (xu hướng sàn diễn thời trang).

Linh has a very eye-catching (eye-catchingthu hút ánh nhìn – immediately noticeable because it's stylish or attractive) and well-coordinated (well-coordinatedphối hợp hài hòa – having elements like color or style that match well) clothing style. She often mixes vintage pieces (đồ cổ điển) with modern accessories, creating a unique and memorable look. You’ll usually see her in tailor-made blazers (áo blazer may đo), high-waisted trousers (quần cạp cao) or sometimes even statement outfits (statement outfitstrang phục nổi bật – clothes designed to make a bold impression).

As for why she loves fashion, I believe it’s because clothing is her way of expressing her identity and creativity.
Firstly, Linh views fashion as a form of self-expression (self-expressionsự thể hiện bản thân). She once told me that every outfit she wears is a reflection of how she feels that day. For example, when she’s feeling confident, she’ll go for bold patterns and vibrant colors, which help her stand out in a crowd.
Secondly, fashion gives her a sense of empowerment. Putting together the perfect outfit makes her feel in control and boosts her self-esteem. I remember her saying that no matter how tough her day is, dressing well gives her a mental lift, like putting on armor before facing the world.

All in all, Linh's passion for fashion not only makes her stand out but also inspires people around her, including me, to care more about our personal style.

IV. Part 3

🔹 Question 1: Do clothes express identity?

Yes, I strongly believe that clothes can be a powerful way to express someone’s identity.
First, what people wear often reflects their personality and values, like how artists may prefer vibrant outfits (vibrant: rực rỡ – bright and full of life) to show their creativity.
For example, a free-spirited individual (free-spirited: người sống tự do – someone who acts according to their own values) might wear colorful, mismatched clothes to highlight their non-conformity.
Second, clothes can indicate social roles or even cultural backgrounds, especially through traditional attire (traditional attire: trang phục truyền thống – clothes worn based on one’s cultural heritage).
A person wearing a traditional Ao Dai during festivals may be signaling their cultural pride and connection to Vietnamese heritage.
Moreover, certain fashion choices reflect one’s profession or status, such as a lawyer in a well-tailored suit (well-tailored: được may đo kỹ lưỡng – perfectly fitted) showing formality and authority.
This way, clothes become more than just fabric — they act like a non-verbal statement (non-verbal statement: tuyên bố không lời – something communicated without speaking) about who we are.>> tham khảo CẦN VIẾT & THU ÂM BAO NHIÊU BÀI ĐỂ ĐẠT 8.0 SPEAKING & 7.0 WRITING?
Therefore, our wardrobe often functions as an extension of our identity, revealing aspects that words cannot fully express.

🔹 Question 2: Cheap vs. expensive clothes: differences?

There are clear differences between cheap and expensive clothes, especially in terms of quality and social perception.
First, expensive garments (garments: quần áo – pieces of clothing) are typically made from high-end materials (high-end: cao cấp – premium or luxurious) and feature superior craftsmanship, which means they last longer and fit better.
For instance, a luxury blazer might cost more but be durable, comfortable, and stay stylish over the years.
In contrast, cheap fashion often involves mass-produced clothing (mass-produced: sản xuất hàng loạt – made in large quantities) which may be poorly stitched and lose shape after a few washes.
Second, people may wear expensive clothes to signal wealth and social status, as they’re often associated with prestige brands (prestige: danh giá – admired for high quality or reputation).
For example, someone in a designer handbag and heels may be seen as successful, while cheap clothing rarely creates that impression.
This has led to the rise of status-driven consumption (status-driven: bị thúc đẩy bởi địa vị – motivated by desire to impress others) in modern fashion.
So overall, while cheap clothes are practical, expensive ones tend to carry symbolic value beyond functionality.

🔹 Question 3: Are young people more fashionable?

Yes, I would say young people today are generally more fashionable than older generations.
One reason is that they are more exposed to global fashion trends (global fashion trends: xu hướng thời trang toàn cầu – styles that are popular internationally) through social media and influencers.
For instance, teenagers might quickly adopt a new streetwear style after seeing it go viral on TikTok or Instagram.
This constant exposure makes them more style-conscious (style-conscious: quan tâm đến phong cách – aware of and interested in style), always updating their wardrobes.
Another reason is that fashion allows them to explore their individual identity and stand out from the crowd.
Take university students, for example – many experiment with mix-and-match outfits, retro accessories, and gender-fluid designs to express uniqueness.
Moreover, with the popularity of fast fashion, stylish clothes have become more accessible and affordable to young people.
As a result, the younger generation tends to be more experimental and bold when it comes to what they wear.
