IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

Today, I would like to tell you about my older sister, Linh, who has always been a highly persuasive person (highly persuasive – cực kỳ thuyết phục – very skilled at convincing others to do something).

She once persuaded me to join a public speaking course even though I was extremely camera-shy (camera-shy – ngại ống kính – uncomfortable being filmed or speaking in front of a camera) and lacked self-confidence.

She didn’t just tell me to sign up; she walked me through (walk someone through something – hướng dẫn ai đó từng bước – to explain or guide someone carefully through a process) all the benefits and even attended the first few sessions with me to make me feel more at ease.

What really made it work was her infectious enthusiasm (infectious enthusiasm – sự nhiệt tình lan tỏa – strong excitement that makes others feel excited too) and her ability to use real-life examples to back up her points.

Her strategy worked for two key reasons.

First, she knew how to tap into my insecurities (tap into something – khai thác cái gì – to understand and make use of something effectively). She didn’t pressure me directly. Instead, she shared her own story about how she overcame the fear of public speaking, which created a safe emotional space (safe emotional space – không gian cảm xúc an toàn – an environment where someone feels comfortable expressing vulnerability) for me to reflect on my fears.

Second, her words were backed by tangible results (tangible results – kết quả rõ ràng – outcomes that are easy to see or measure). She showed me how being able to speak confidently had helped her ace job interviews and expand her professional network (professional network – mạng lưới nghề nghiệp – a group of people connected through work or business relationships). I could clearly see that she wasn’t just talking the talk—she had actually benefited from it.

Thanks to her, I now feel far more confident when presenting ideas in class or participating in group discussions. Honestly, I’m eternally grateful (eternally grateful – vô cùng biết ơn – deeply and permanently thankful) for her guidance.

IV. Part 3

1. How can parents motivate children?

One effective way parents can motivate children is by setting achievable milestones (cột mốc có thể đạt đượcsmall, realistic goals) that align with their interests. When a child meets these goals, it gives them a sense of accomplishment and encourages them to strive for more. For example, a child who enjoys drawing might be motivated if their parents enroll them in an art class and reward consistent progress. Another powerful method is to create a nurturing environment (môi trường nuôi dưỡngan atmosphere full of support and encouragement) where children feel emotionally secure. When children grow up in a well-structured household (gia đình có tổ chứca home with clear routines and guidance), they are more likely to be self-driven. I remember my cousin became more responsible after his parents started involving him in decision-making at home. This helped him develop intrinsic motivation (động lực nội tạimotivation that comes from within), which is far more sustainable. Overall, parents play a pivotal role in shaping their child’s mindset through consistent encouragement and emotional support.

2. Is self-motivation more effective than external pressure?

Yes, I strongly believe that self-motivation is more effective because it drives people to work consistently, even when no one is watching. People who are internally driven tend to set long-term personal benchmarks (chuẩn mực cá nhân dài hạnself-set standards for measuring success) and are less likely to give up. For instance, someone who learns a language out of passion usually outperforms those doing it only for exams. Secondly, external pressure often leads to short-lived success (thành công ngắn hạnachievements that do not last) and can trigger anxiety. This is especially common in students whose parents push them excessively, resulting in burnout (kiệt sứcextreme emotional and physical fatigue). In contrast, those with an inner drive (động lực bên tronginternal determination) often display more resilience in the face of setbacks. From my experience, friends who pursued careers they genuinely enjoyed stayed motivated even during tough times. In short, while external pressure might ignite short bursts of energy, it’s self-motivation that ensures long-term growth.>> tham khảo CẦN VIẾT & THU ÂM BAO NHIÊU BÀI ĐỂ ĐẠT 8.0 SPEAKING & 7.0 WRITING?

3. Why do people need role models?

People need role models because they provide a tangible source of inspiration (nguồn cảm hứng cụ thểsomeone real that motivates you to do better). Having someone to look up to helps individuals visualize what success looks like and believe that it's achievable. For example, many young athletes admire professional players and emulate their work ethic. Additionally, role models offer moral guidance (hướng dẫn đạo đứcadvice on how to behave ethically) which is crucial in today’s complex society. In a world full of distractions and temptations, a positive role model acts as a moral compass. I remember I looked up to my high school teacher, who was both knowledgeable and kind, and it shaped my view of education. Without such examples, people might feel lost or lack direction. Ultimately, role models play a transformational role (vai trò chuyển đổia role that creates significant positive change) in shaping one’s values and ambitions.
