IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

Today, I would like to tell you about a film I watched recently that left me deeply disappointed.

It was The Flash (2023), a box-office hyped blockbuster (phim bom tấn được quảng bá rầm rộ – a movie heavily promoted to attract large audiences), which is a superhero film produced by DC Studios.

I decided to watch it because I am a huge fan of superhero movies, and the trailers looked extremely promising with stunning visuals and a nostalgic return of classic characters.

However, it turned out to be quite underwhelming and failed to meet my expectations.

The main reason for my disappointment is its narrative incoherence (sự thiếu mạch lạc trong cốt truyện – lack of logical and clear storytelling). The plot felt confusing and rushed, making it difficult to follow the emotional development of the characters. For instance, key events happened too abruptly without proper explanation, which made the story feel disjointed and hard to emotionally connect with. As a result, instead of being an immersive cinematic experience, it became a frustrating viewing experience.>> 🔥 Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

Another major issue was its over-the-top CGI-laden visuals (hiệu ứng CGI quá mức – excessive use of computer-generated imagery). Although the film tried to impress audiences with spectacular action scenes, the visual effects often looked unrealistic and artificial. This significantly reduced the sense of authenticity and made many scenes feel more like a video game than a serious movie. Personally, I expected a visually groundbreaking superhero film, but instead, it felt like a critically panned production (bộ phim bị giới phê bình chê – a film widely criticized by reviewers), which did not live up to its massive hype.

In conclusion, The Flash disappointed me mainly because of its weak storytelling and excessive reliance on poor-quality CGI, which completely overshadowed its potential as an exciting superhero film.

    1. Are actors and actresses important to movies?

Yes, actors and actresses play a crucial role in the success of films.
Main idea 1: They provide emotional resonance (sự cộng hưởng cảm xúc), meaning they help audiences emotionally connect with the story.
Supporting idea: Without strong performances, even a well-written script may feel lifeless and unconvincing.
Example: For instance, in character-driven dramas, a talented actor can turn a simple scene into a deeply moving experience.
Main idea 2: They also act as box-office magnets (yếu tố thu hút doanh thu phòng vé), attracting large audiences.
Supporting idea: This is because fans often follow their favourite celebrities regardless of the plot quality.
Example: For example, blockbuster movies starring famous actors usually generate higher revenue on opening weekends.
Therefore, actors are both artistic and commercial assets in the film industry.

    Difficult grammar structures:

    • Complex sentence with concessive idea: “Even a well-written script may feel lifeless if performances are weak.”
→ Ngay cả kịch bản hay cũng có thể trở nên vô hồn nếu diễn xuất kém.

Main idea 2: They also enhance marketing leverage (lợi thế tiếp thị), helping studios promote films more effectively.
Supporting idea: Studios invest heavily in star power because it reduces financial risk.
Example: For example, films with internationally known actors are more easily distributed worldwide.
Thus, star presence significantly boosts commercial potential.

    Difficult grammar structures:

    • Cause-effect structure: “Because star power reduces risk, studios invest more in it.”
→ Vì sức ảnh hưởng của ngôi sao giảm rủi ro nên hãng phim đầu tư nhiều hơn.

Supporting idea: Professional critics often analyze elements like acting, direction, and storytelling quality.
Example: For instance, I often read reviews before deciding whether to watch a new film.
Main idea 2: However, reviews can be subjectively biased (thiên kiến chủ quan) depending on personal taste.
Supporting idea: What critics dislike may still be enjoyable for general audiences.
Example: For example, some low-rated comedies are still commercially successful.
Therefore, I use reviews as guidance, not absolute truth.

    Difficult grammar structures:

    • Concessive clause: “Although reviews are helpful, they are not always accurate.”
→ Mặc dù đánh giá hữu ích nhưng không phải lúc nào cũng chính xác.
    • Contrast structure: “What critics reject, audiences may love.”
→ Điều giới phê bình chê có thể được khán giả yêu thích.

Supporting idea: They undergo intense training, long working hours, and emotional pressure.
