    • a good adviser should be a good listener, someone who takes the time to understand the situation before offering advice
    • To offer expertise in a way that's truly helpful, experts usually inform the person about the decision at hand by  telling them what experts know about their options, possibly offering a recommendation, then let them use that information to make a sound decision.

  • Example: 
• Main idea 2: If you want to become an advisor in a field, I would say fail in that field as many times as possible and rise up again and again
   
  • Supporting idea: because subconsciously that's what the listener is expecting from you.
  • Example: 
    • Roger Federer has been successful for so long because he has taken failures so many times and rose up again and again. 
    • On the other hand, Justin Bieber rose up and fell down, he could not take it, started doing strange things to get that popularity, but he hardly rose up to what he was in the beginning.
