II. Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1 chủ đề Weather
Question 1: What's the weather usually like in your hometown?
The climate in my hometown is moderately humid (moderately humid – ẩm vừa phải – having a mild level of moisture in the air), which makes the summers warm and the winters pleasantly cool.
This kind of weather creates a comfortable living environment (comfortable living environment – môi trường sống dễ chịu – conditions that are neither too harsh nor too mild).
For instance, during spring, the skies are often clear and the temperature stays around 25 degrees, which is perfect for outdoor sports.
In short, the mild seasonal changes (mild seasonal changes – sự thay đổi thời tiết ôn hòa – gentle transitions between seasons) offer a refreshing balance year-round.
Question 2: Do you have a habit of checking the weather forecast?
Yes, I always check the weather app before stepping out, as it helps me plan my day accordingly (plan my day accordingly – lên kế hoạch phù hợp cho cả ngày – organize your schedule depending on the weather).
It’s become part of my morning ritual (morning ritual – thói quen buổi sáng – a regular habit in the morning), especially since unexpected storms can ruin my plans.
For example, I once skipped checking it and got completely drenched on my way to a job interview.
So now, I never leave the house without checking the forecast—it’s like better safe than sorry (better safe than sorry – cẩn tắc vô ưu – an idiom meaning it’s better to be careful than to suffer later).
Question 3: Do you like hot weather?
To be honest, I’m not a big fan of scorching temperatures (scorching temperatures – nhiệt độ thiêu đốt – extremely hot weather conditions).
Hot days often leave me drained and irritable (drained and irritable – kiệt sức và dễ cáu – physically exhausted and emotionally sensitive).
Last summer, during a heatwave, I could barely concentrate at work because my tiny apartment lacked air conditioning.
So for me, a cool breeze trumps a blazing sun any day (a cool breeze trumps a blazing sun – gió mát vẫn hơn nắng chói – idiom meaning cool weather is always better).
Question 4: What do you do in hot weather?
When it gets too hot, I usually stay indoors and crank up the AC (crank up the AC – bật máy lạnh hết cỡ – increase the air conditioner’s power).
I also drink chilled beverages (chilled beverages – đồ uống lạnh – cold drinks), like smoothies or iced tea, to stay refreshed.
Last weekend, I binge-watched a whole series on Netflix just to avoid the unbearable heat outside.
Honestly, escaping the heat is a no-brainer (no-brainer – điều quá rõ ràng không cần suy nghĩ – idiom meaning an obvious or easy choice).>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR
Question 5: Do you like wet weather?
Not really, because constant rain tends to create a gloomy atmosphere (gloomy atmosphere – bầu không khí u ám – a sad or depressing feeling caused by weather).
It also disrupts my daily routine since I usually get around on foot (get around on foot – di chuyển bằng cách đi bộ – walk to places instead of using transport).
Just last week, I was late for a presentation because I had to take a detour due to flooding.
So for me, rain is more of a hindrance than a blessing (hindrance than a blessing – cản trở hơn là may mắn – idiom meaning more of a problem than a good thing).
Question 6: Would you like to visit a hot country?
Definitely, but only if I can travel during the shoulder season (shoulder season – mùa thấp điểm – period between peak and off-peak tourism seasons).
That way, the temperatures are more bearable and the crowd density (crowd density – mật độ đám đông – how packed a place is) is lower.
For example, I’d love to visit Morocco in late spring when it’s still sunny but not overwhelmingly hot.
So yes, a warm destination is appealing as long as it doesn’t feel like I’m walking on hot coals.
