II. Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 1 chủ đề Memory
1. How do you remember important things?
I usually rely on a well-structured to-do list (danh sách việc cần làm có tổ chức – a clearly arranged schedule of tasks) to keep everything under control. This method allows me to stay on top of (kiểm soát tốt – to manage something efficiently) my study responsibilities and upcoming deadlines. For example, whenever I feel snowed under (bận ngập đầu – extremely busy), I just jot down (ghi nhanh – write quickly) my tasks by urgency and tackle them one at a time. Without this habit, I’d probably end up forgetting half the things I need to do.
2. Are you good at memorising things?
To be honest, my memory is a bit hit-or-miss (lúc nhớ lúc quên – sometimes effective, sometimes not), depending on the type of information. I’m quite good at remembering visuals, like charts or colors, but I tend to struggle with names and numbers. For instance, I could easily recall the layout of a classroom but forget someone’s birthday within minutes. It seems that my brain is more wired for images than for data, which can be both a blessing and a curse.
3. Have you ever forgotten something important?
Yes, I once completely forgot about a group presentation (bài thuyết trình nhóm – an academic task done with teammates) that I was supposed to lead. I was totally bogged down (sa lầy – overwhelmed) with exam preparation, so it just slipped my mind. When the day came, I had to think on my feet (phản ứng nhanh – respond quickly under pressure) and improvise in front of everyone. It was a real trial by fire (thử thách cam go – a difficult situation that tests someone’s ability), but I somehow managed to keep my cool.>> tham khảo CẦN VIẾT & THU ÂM BAO NHIÊU BÀI ĐỂ ĐẠT 8.0 SPEAKING & 7.0 WRITING?
4. What do you need to remember in your daily life?
Each day, I have to keep track of several time-sensitive commitments (các cam kết cần được hoàn thành đúng giờ – things that must be done on time), such as class schedules, deadlines, and group meetings. As someone who tends to be a bit absent-minded (đãng trí – frequently forgetful), I try to avoid leaving things to chance. That’s why I carry a pocket-sized notebook (sổ tay bỏ túi – a small notebook) wherever I go to jot down anything that comes up. It might sound old-fashioned, but it’s a tried-and-tested (đã được kiểm chứng – proven to work) way to stay organised.
